SEEK BETTER OPTIONS

We are not using the best options to meet needs of solve problems. A few examples follow:

a) Commercial fertilizers are costly to make and use considerable energy to do so. Annual

applications to our farm fields are typically needed, so there are transportation expenses and

costs to apply. The better option is to add biochar inoculated w/ cultured soil microbes to the soils of root-zone crop rows at a rate of 05 to 08 percent added to soil volume. The microbes living in biochar cavities will produce all plant nutrients needed for not less than 20 years. All the biochar needed for our farms may be made from millions of acres of insect-killed timber in our national forests. Harvesting of such dead timber improves forests and reduces the fire hazard in these forests.

b) Landfills for MSW (municipal solid waste) produce a large volume of methane, the second gas, along with CO2, that is solar heated to cause global warming, Plasma gasification may be used to convert nearly all solid waste to green energy thus making landfills much smaller with far less volume of greenhouse methane gas.

c) Millions of acres of tropical forest are being destroyed, in countries like Indonesia, and all the wildlife therein eliminated to create palm oil plantations. Palm oil is increasingly used in making food products, biofuels, cosmetics, and several industrial products. An oil (lipid) that is of equal quality, algal lipids, may be produced on desert lands (1.3rd of all land) without elimination of the existing vegetation. The algal lipids may be efficiently and economically produced in a tubal-algalculture system created & perfected by my charity, NPI. Tubes act to prevent solar evaporation of algal production water and facilitate recycling of that water after each algal harvest. NPI uses algal production as part of its counter-desertification means to grow a wide range of crops on desert lands. By this means enough food crops may soon be grown to provide global food security and all plants grown engage in carbon sequestration that reduces global warming. The switch from palm oil to algal oils creates a win, win result.

d) Chemical farming, used on most U. S. farms requires massive energy inputs overall, acts to harm our environment, and produces less healthful foods some contaminated by a very hazardous chemical glyphosate used by farmers to control weeds. The glyphosate is used in Monsanto's herbicide Roundup. Two decades of agricultural research by the Rodale Institute has proven that organic farming is far more sustainable, saves energy, protects our fragile environment, and produces more healthful foods.

e) When developing nations cannot grow their economies fast enough to provide meaningful employment for all their youth, this creates a "pool" of frustrated & angry youth. Such youth are thus vulnerable to recruitment by gangs, criminals, terrorists, and narco-terrorists. What is a proven solution is to provide these youth with entrepreneurship training & funds for new business starts so youth may create new enterprises and become self-employed. USAID was helping to provide this solution until they were corrupted by "woke" policies that ended such efforts and motivated POTUS Trump to terminate USAID. Entrepreneurship training &

new business funding needs to be restored.

f) Too many nations are wittingly or unwittingly causing/ allowing the social, economic, and political isolation of one or more segments of their national population. Being so isolated a number of these groups are still using barter trade for survival. Isolation created frustration and anger typically causing social chaos. The CCP (Chinese Communist Party) has taken advantage of this condition to use its agents-of-influence to promote radical socialist as well as communist doctrine among such populations. ISIS & the Islamic Wahhabi are doing the same in some areas with the objective of creating a global Caliphate. A wide array of unique programs are needed to make all these populations better support the nations in which they live, and have those nations consider and help provide for their needs. The U. S. is included as being part of this problem by ignoring the needs of some Americans.

I could continue with more examples of better options, but you should already get the idea.
