Political gridlock is destructive to democracies and is likely to occur under these conditions in the U. S.
a) Voters elect more and more extremists to Congress.
b) Parties discourage critical thinking and individual decisions while demanding its members vote as a "block."
c) The two parties refuse to share functional governance.
d) Divisions and inequalities exist.
e) With no term limits, Congress is viewed as a "retirement home" with senior members being mostly focused on achieving personal gains.
f) Root causes of conflict are not addressed.
g) Finding common ground and compromise is no longer a priority.
h) There are fewer and fewer centrist legislators elected.
i) Political games such as illegal voting & gerrymandering are being played.
Political gridlock is now with us for all the above reasons!!!
